L’equipaggio ceco composto da Jan Kopecký e Petr Starý ha vinto la 39ª edizione del Rally Zlín. Per la Škoda Motorsport, alla quinta presenza nell’Intercontinental Rally Challenge (IRC), il successo è rafforzato dal terzo posto di Juho Hänninen e Mikko Markkula.
Il Rally Zlín, disputato sulle strade della Repubblica Ceca, è iniziato venerdì sera con la prima prova speciale, evento decisamente spettacolare per i tanti appassionati che, durante tutto il weekend, hanno fatto da vivace contorno alla gara. Il finlandese Juho Hänninen si è aggiudicato il prologo, precedendo il compagno di squadra Kopecký di appena un secondo, e sabato si è quindi presentato al via da leader della corsa.
La gara, sviluppata su un totale di 15 prove speciali per una lunghezza complessiva di 254,96 km, si è rivelata particolarmente combattuta sin dai primi chilometri, con diversi piloti in grado di competere per il successo finale – 24 le vetture iscritte per la categoria Super 2000 – che si sono sfidati sul filo dei secondi. Al volante della Fabia S2000, Jan Kopecký ha vinto 5 delle 8 prove speciali in programma nella giornata di sabato, accumulando 61 secondi di vantaggio sugli inseguitori; Juho Hänninen, protagonista di una bella vittoria nella 7a prova speciale, ha chiuso la giornata al quarto posto. Una pioggia insistente ha condizionato gli ultimi due tratti cronometrati di sabato, creando non poche difficoltà ai piloti in gara con gomme da asciutto.
Le prime prove speciali di domenica, corse su un asfalto ancora viscido dopo l’abbondante pioggia, sono risultate particolarmente complicate per la scelta degli pneumatici. Grazie al successo nell’11ª prova speciale, Jan Kopecký e Petr Starý hanno potuto consolidare il proprio margine sugli avversari, amministrando il vantaggio accumulato fino a quel momento per tagliare il traguardo da vincitori. Il finlandese Juho Hänninen, dopo una piccola sbavatura, si è riscattato imponendosi negli ultimi due tratti cronometrati e chiudendo così al terzo posto. La Škoda Motorsport può dunque celebrare un ulteriore successo, dopo la storica doppietta centrata in Russia nel mese di luglio.
Il Responsabile della Škoda Motorsport, Michal Hrabánek, è decisamente soddisfatto: “Abbiamo ottenuto un eccellente risultato, vincendo nonostante fossimo sotto pressione visto che abbiamo corso in Repubblica Ceca. È un momento importante per tutti noi e per la Fabia Super 2000. Vorrei ringraziare entrambi gli equipaggi e tutti i membri del Team Škoda Motorsport”.
“Vincere qui è fantastico” commenta Jan Kopecký. “È stata senz’altro la gara più equilibrata dell’IRC 2009. Le prove intorno a Zlín sono molto difficili e anche dal punto di vista climatico la situazione si è complicata notevolmente nella giornata di sabato: per questo siamo orgogliosi di aver centrato questo risultato”.
Felice anche il pilota finlandese Juho Hänninen: “Per me e Mikko è stata la prima gara su queste strade, e devo dire che è uno dei rally più difficili con cui ci siamo confrontati. Siamo molto contenti di questo terzo posto, perché gli avversari erano davvero agguerriti. La Fabia S2000 è stata perfetta dall’inizio alla fine, e guidarla è stato un vero piacere”.

Great blog you have here but i seem to be having a problem looking at your RSS feed. Everytime i click it it comes up with error 638. It might be my own desktop. I have a Mac with bullguard firewall. Im not sure if its Disabled. Let me know if anyone else has mentioned any issues or its just me. Im not too good with netbooks. I cant see my writing after submitting so im not sure if you will see this. Ill bookmark your site and check by in a couple of days for an answer.
