Merito, soprattutto, della qualit\u00e0 ed affidabilit\u00e0 delle trasmissioni di ultima generazione. Come <strong>l\u2019EAT8, quella di Peugeot (e di Groupe PSA)<\/strong> che ha origini lontanissime\u2026<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Il tecnologico <strong>cambio automatico EAT8 a 8 rapporti<\/strong> che equipaggia, tra l\u2019altro, <strong>Nuova 508<\/strong>, la nuova ammiraglia Peugeot, ha un nobile antenato che affonda le radici ai primi decenni del secolo scorso. Origini anch\u2019esse collegate ad una grande ammiraglia della storia del Leone.<\/p>\n<p>Tutto ebbe origine nella seconda met\u00e0 degli anni Trenta, quando Peugeot present\u00f2 la sua ammiraglia 402 equipaggiata con un inedito <strong>cambio elettromagnetico chiamato Cotal<\/strong>, una delle meraviglie della meccanica del periodo. Inizialmente destinata a pochi privilegiati, nei programmi del Marchio, avrebbe dovuto poi essere progressivamente introdotto su vetture di classe inferiore. Purtroppo, la guerra scoppiata di l\u00ec a poco cancell\u00f2 tutti i progetti e rimase confinato a quel modello.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Il cambio Cotal si componeva di tre elementi di base:<\/strong> il <strong>gruppo cambio vero e proprio<\/strong>; il <strong>selettore delle marce (a leva o a \u201cmostardiera\u201d)<\/strong> posizionato dietro al volante; un <strong>secondo selettore (di direzione, marcia avanti o retromarcia)<\/strong> fatto a leva o a pomello e posto sul cruscotto o sotto di esso. Il selettore delle marce era collegato per mezzo di cablaggi elettrici al cambio e muoveva al suo interno quattro elettrocalamite ruotanti che contenevano al loro volta diversi treni di ingranaggi. Questi, secondo al modo in cui si combinavano, <strong>creavano i quattro diversi livelli di demoltiplicazione, con il quarto rapporto solitamente sovramoltiplicato per ridurre i consumi. <\/strong>Questa operazione era possibile sia per la marcia avanti sia per la retromarcia.
