Erano le caratteristiche che, a partire dal<strong> Salone di Parigi del 1958<\/strong> quando fu esposta per la prima volta la <strong>versione station wagon della ID19<\/strong>, contraddistinguevano questo tipo di vetture. E oggi nulla \u00e8 cambiato\u2026<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Per moltissimi anni la <strong>Traction Avant<\/strong> era stata prodotta in varie versioni: berlina, familiare, commerciale e cabriolet, con carrozzerie che si adattavano alle esigenze degli utenti di queste automobili per spazio, posti a sedere e&#8230; vocazione.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Al suo arrivo nel 1955 la DS<\/strong> aveva di fatto rimpiazzato le versioni pi\u00f9 lussuose della Traction, come le 15Six che erano uscite dai listini di vendita. L\u2019anno successivo, al Salone di Parigi del 1956, debutt\u00f2 la ID19 che sarebbe stata posta in vendita nel successivo 1957, sostituendo del tutto la gamma della Traction Avant.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Tuttavia, la ID e la DS<\/strong> condividevano la medesima carrozzeria di tipo \u201cberlina\u201d che, pur essendo molto spaziosa, non offriva la funzionalit\u00e0 delle versioni \u201clunghe\u201d della Traction. Ovviamente questo \u201cvuoto\u201d non dur\u00f2 a lungo: al <strong>Salone di Parigi del 1958<\/strong>, fu esposta per la prima volta la versione station wagon della ID19, che negli anni riusc\u00ec ad unire i motori pi\u00f9 potenti ed il sofisticato impianto frenante della DS alla semplicit\u00e0 funzionale della ID in un mix che fu chiamato semplicemente Break.<\/p>\n<p>Le versioni della <strong>Break <\/strong>furono essenzialmente tre. Innanzitutto, quella classica per otto passeggeri: tre sul sedile davanti, tre su quello posteriore, due su strapuntini a scomparsa nel bagagliaio. Poi la <strong>Familiare<\/strong>, sempre con otto posti: tre davanti, due dietro e tre in tre strapuntini tra i sedili anteriori e posteriori, con il bagagliaio sempre libero per le valige. Infine, la <strong>Commerciale,<\/strong> a sei posti: tre davanti e tre dietro, come nelle berline, ma con il sedile posteriore abbattibile ed un incredibile vano di carico.<\/p>\n<p>Dalla Commerciale fu derivata quasi subito <strong>l\u2019Ambulance,<\/strong> con lo spazio per una barella ricavato dal sedile posteriore frazionabile (2\/3 \u2013 1\/3) che lasciava comunque lo spazio per un infermiere accanto alla lettiga.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Il successo fu immediato:<\/strong> le caratteristiche dell\u2019impianto di sospensione idropneumatica autolivellante consentivano un carico importante senza che la vettura perdesse equilibrio. Fruttivendoli, rappresentanti di commercio ed anche coloro che al tempo trasportavano i giornali dalle tipografie fino ai pi\u00f9 piccoli e sperduti paesini d\u2019Europa, avevano trovato l\u2019auto ideale per le loro esigenze.<\/p>\n<p>Non solo: la <strong>Break su base D manteneva<\/strong> la classe delle sue sorelle berline (e, dal \u201861, Cabriolet) e consentiva al proprietario di utilizzarla durante la settimana come mezzo di lavoro, e nel fine settimana di portare a spasso la famiglia, garantendo a tutti i passeggeri il lusso ed il comfort proprio di una DS.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Quando il 24 aprile del 1975<\/strong>, a causa della crisi petrolifera e della psicosi collettiva che ne deriv\u00f2, l\u2019ultima DS lasci\u00f2 la catena di montaggio, la Break continu\u00f2 ad essere assemblata ancora per quasi due anni, per soddisfare coloro che avevano la necessit\u00e0 di un\u2019automobile lussuosa, spaziosa e sicura &#8230; proprio come una
