{"id":44205,"date":"2020-02-25T17:51:57","date_gmt":"2020-02-25T16:51:57","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.abmnews.com\/blog\/?p=44205"},"modified":"2020-02-25T17:51:59","modified_gmt":"2020-02-25T16:51:59","slug":"una-berlina-4-porte-che-correva-nei-rally-la-sfida-impossibile-della-peugeot-505-turbodiesel","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.abmnews.com\/blog\/una-berlina-4-porte-che-correva-nei-rally-la-sfida-impossibile-della-peugeot-505-turbodiesel\/","title":{"rendered":"UNA BERLINA 4 PORTE CHE CORREVA NEI RALLY  LA SFIDA IMPOSSIBILE DELLA PEUGEOT 505 TURBODIESEL"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Oggi l&#8217;argomento potrebbe far sorridere, ma nel <strong>1982<\/strong>, nel pieno del <strong>boom della motorizzazione Diesel<\/strong> e nel quale si sarebbe inserita di l\u00ec a poco la straordinaria <strong>205<\/strong>, la scelta fu coerente con quella innata voglia di PEUGEOT di lanciare delle sfide che ritroviamo anche oggi nell\u2019epoca della <strong>transizione energetica<\/strong>. In quegli anni, la Casa del Leone aveva a listino una grossa berlina che stava ottenendo buoni riscontri di mercato anche in Italia, soprattutto con motorizzazione a gasolio.<\/p>\n<p>Nel <strong>Campionato Italiano Rally<\/strong> di quell&#8217;anno, la filiale italiana della Casa prese una decisione che sembrava un grosso azzardo: far correre una <strong>PEUGEOT 505 Turbodiesel<\/strong>. Una scelta difficile, se si pensa alle vetture al top dell&#8217;epoca, berlinette sportive con motori anche plurifrazionati e con potenze che potevano superare i 300 CV.<\/p>\n<p>In quella stagione entravano in vigore <strong>nuovi regolamenti tecnici<\/strong> con l&#8217;esordio delle <strong>vetture di Gruppo N<\/strong> (turismo di serie), <strong>Gruppo A<\/strong> (turismo preparato) e <strong>Gruppo B<\/strong> (modelli costruiti in piccola serie), meglio definiti rispetto ai precedenti Gruppo 1,2,3 e 4, destinati a coabitare ancora per un anno.<\/p>\n<p>Per il massimo torneo tricolore rally, la <strong>CSAI<\/strong> (commissione sportiva dell&#8217;ACI, chiamata a gestire l&#8217;attivit\u00e0 corsaiola), oltre al titolo assoluto, ha messo in palio anche quelli per i Gruppi, compresa una classifica specifica per auto con motore Diesel. Un motivo in pi\u00f9 per raccogliere la sfida da parte di PEUGEOT, che acquis\u00ec dalla filiale francese una delle <strong>505 TD<\/strong> schierate l&#8217;anno prima nel <strong>campionato terra<\/strong> con alla guida l&#8217;<strong>ex pilota F1 Jos\u00e9 Dolhem<\/strong>, cugino di <strong>Didier Pironi<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Della preparazione e della gestione della vettura in versione Gruppo A \u2013 non era infatti prevista l&#8217;omologazione in Gruppo N anche se la 505 TD da rally manteneva a grandi linee le caratteristiche del modello di serie \u2013 se ne occup\u00f2 l&#8217;allora <strong>partner tecnico<\/strong> di PEUGEOT Italia, l&#8217;<strong>AST di Valerio Avogadro<\/strong>. Pochi gli interventi per adattare la macchina alle gare del campionato italiano. Invariato il motore di serie, il robusto quattro cilindri 2.300 cm<sup>3<\/sup> con turbocompressore Garrett ed accreditato di una potenza di 88 CV a 4.700 giri\/min. L\u2019unica modifica \u00e8 stata l\u2019adozione di una coppia conica pi\u00f9 corta e dei rapporti al cambio ravvicinati.<\/p>\n<p>Anteriormente e posteriormente furono adottati i <strong>freni a disco pi\u00f9 grandi<\/strong> dell&#8217;ammiraglia PEUGEOT 604, con i <strong>dischi posteriori ventilati<\/strong> al posto di quelli pieni previsti di serie. A livello di assetto, da segnalare gli ammortizzatori rinforzati per fondi sterrati, mentre i cerchi di serie accoglievano pneumatici racing. Per contenere il peso, lavorando entro i limiti consentiti dal regolamento, si arriv\u00f2 a 1.200 kg contro i 1.300 kg del modello di serie.<\/p>\n<p>La vettura venne affidata a <strong>Gianni Del Zoppo<\/strong>, un pilota che arrivava da un paio di stagioni di successo con le Peugeot 104ZS, affiancato da Elisabetta (\u201cBetty\u201d) Tognana, sorella del pilota che quell&#8217;anno avrebbe conquistato il titolo italiano. <strong>La PEUGEOT 505 Turbodiesel debutt\u00f2 al Targa Florio vincendo<\/strong> agevolmente nella sua categoria sui veloci ma impegnativi asfalti siciliani.<\/p>\n<p>In effetti, la 505 Turbodiesel si dimostr\u00f2 poi adatta a tutti i fondi, nonostante l\u2019oggettivo handicap derivante dal peso e dalla fascia di utilizzo del turbo che aveva un grosso buco di erogazione in basso ed entrava concretamente in funzione dai 2.500 giri\/min., con il massimo delle prestazioni erogate tra 4.000 e 5.000 giri\/min.<\/p>\n<p>Purtroppo, per\u00f2, la doccia arriv\u00f2 a met\u00e0 stagione quando <strong>la CSAI decise di cancellare la categoria Diesel<\/strong>. Alla Peugeot 505 Turbodiesel non \u00e8 rimasto quindi che gareggiare in Gruppo A, dove in ogni caso \u00e8 stata fonte di grandi soddisfazioni, con il <strong>primo<\/strong> (Del Zoppo) e <strong>secondo<\/strong> <strong>posto<\/strong>(Pittoni) <strong>di gruppo<\/strong> nel <strong>rally mondiale di Sanremo<\/strong> e l&#8217;11\u00b0 posto a San Marino. Qui il pilota fu lo stesso Del Zoppo, alla fine arrivato terzo nella classifica del Gruppo A, categoria vinta quell&#8217;anno dall&#8217;attuale partner tecnico di PEUGEOT Italia Fabrizio Fabbri.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"","protected":false},"author":2,"featured_media":44206,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"tdm_status":"","tdm_grid_status":"","footnotes":""},"categories":[293,301],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-44205","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-news","category-peugeot-2"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v27.7 -
